Christmas 2013

Christmas this year was so much fun as long as you don't count the week that everyone spent sick with bronchitis, hacking coughs, runny noses and the flu.  Other than that it was great watching Cason get excited about opening presents.  He also loved the Christmas tree.  By loved I mean he loved throwing things at the Christmas tree.  Balls, cars, toy animals, anything within reach.  We didn't have a tree at our house since we are trying to sell it and Terry won the argument so Cason wasn't trained at home.  We got to Grammy's house and he went after the tree.  Luckily after a day or two the newness wore off.  Also Grammy hadn't been on her usual Christmas decorating spree so there weren't even any ornaments when we got to town.  We just decided to leave them off since the destroyer was around.
The Monday before Christmas we went on the Polar Express train in Grapevine with my brother, Angie and the kids.  Cason like it for the first half and then got a little bored but he was pretty well behaved.  He does love trains and kept saying "choo choo" over and over.  It was perfect for Connor who is 4.

This is on the way back and about the time both Cason and Terry got bored with it

They had snow blowing when you got off the train.

Christmas Eve we went to Grandpa's house.  I had already started coughing and Terry and his brother both went downhill as the night progressed.  I don't think either one of them got out of bed for about the next two days.  We did still have some fun and he got to open his first presents.

He doesn't really tear into them.  He likes to rip off little pieces at a time.  He was working really hard at it.

This is such a Cason face.  This is how he looks when he's concentrating.

Cason is obsessed with the pool.  Anything water is a "pool". Uncle B trying to keep him from jumping in.
He is saying pool in this one for probably the 100th time. :)

While we were there they brought out a picture of Terry.  He is older than Cason is now but they look just like each other.  The hair is exactly the same.  It is weird because I don't really think the picture looks much like Terry, although he is making a typical Terry face.

Terry is missing from Christmas pictures with my family.  He made an appearance but spent almost the entire day in bed.  I'm pretty sure he had the flu.  He didn't get tested but Cason tested positive on Friday after Christmas.  Luckily no one else got the flu.  We all had some form of cough or cold but only Terry, his brother and Cason had the really bad stuff.

A typical picture of my dad after Christmas lunch.

My mom bought 3d glasses that turned the Christmas lights to Santa, Snowmen, Snowflakes and ornaments.
Finally on Sunday after Christmas we got to celebrate with Grandma D.  We were supposed to go over there Christmas night but Terry and Brian were already sick. Since Cason and I were ok I took him over to say Merry Christmas but we didn't stay too long or open any presents.  Cason was really good at opening presents by this point and I'm pretty sure he opened his and ours too.

Giving us his smile face.  I really wish I knew where this came from.

Terry and Brian cooked steaks.  Terry is always fashionable in full camo gear. :)
