Growing too fast

We went to Cason's 2 year check up about a month late and it's taken me almost another month to get to this. He has grown like crazy in the last few months.  He went through a spell where he was taking the longest naps and we would swear he looked different every time he woke up.  Apparently he really was growing!

He went from being below 50th percentile in height to 97th percentile.  He's grown almost 3 inches since his 18 month check up. He gained a couple of pounds and I swear he's just getting heavier every day. His head remains huge. :)

He loves to talk and is still obsessed with cars.  Everything is mama car or dada car and he has a song he sings. "Mama car big, dada car big" over and over. He parks his cars and drives them on the couch or floor when he gets really tired. He can be very specific about things.

He also has started to copy everything Terry does. Terry got a kayak so he puts his boat on top of the truck instead of on the trailer. He tells us the boat boat goes on dada car. Usually the trailer holds something else.

He was really excited to ride in the boat boat.

Terry eats cereal and Cason wants Cheerios in a bowl with a spoon. No milk though.

We've been very busy lately. We helped my Dad build Cooper a dog house. Cason was in charge of the screws.

Here he is working in his own project.

We see a lot of horses and talk about riding them so he thought he would try Cooper. It didn't last long.

We play a lot outside. Cason went to Top Golf for the first time and Uncle B taught him how to swing. He loved it! Now he plays "golf" with his bat.

His first slip and slide experience. He eventually ended up naked and the slide got a hole but it was fun while it lasted.

Practicing his hitting...he always opens his mouth on the swing. Ive noticed he uses his mouth a lot when he is concentrating.

Finally, he has started giving us a lot of faces. His new one is tilting his head down and looking at you out of the corner of his eyes. This was as good as I could get.

Birthday party fun

We had a great party today with family, friends, and lots of cars!  But first a few things about our little guy on his 2nd birthday.

  • He loves, loves, loves, cars.  We carry them everywhere.  I always have several in my purse and sometimes he even sleeps with his cars.
  • He is all boy.  He toots and burps and he thinks its hilarious.
  • He always wants to go somewhere in mama car or dada car.
  • He is so funny.  I am constantly laughing at little things he does.  He fake yawns and always tells us everything is cold while fake shivering.
  • He loves to be outside.  We are always going on walks, feeding the ducks, and going to the park.
  • All water is the pool.  Baths, ponds, and actual pools.
  • He loves to make car and animal noises or motions but not your typical animals.  No mooing or barking for this kid.
Now for pictures from the party.  We had a cars bounce house and it was a big hit.  The video is mostly on Terry's phone but he was super excited when he saw it.

Terry and I decided on a last minute Target trip that we should all dress the same.

Hanging out with Grandpa right before he popped this balloon.

Owen was so excited to give Cason his present.

He liked when we sang Happy Birthday to him but he didn't want the cupcake.  He wanted a chip.

Grandma D and Aunt Glenda.  We were so glad Aunt Glenda extended her visit and came to the party!

Sorry for this pic Uncle B.  These glasses freaked Cason out.  He wasn't really a fan.

Notice Cason isn't around.  Terry caught playing with the new toys. :)

We had so much fun and were so glad we got to enjoy his birthday with friends and family.

The Big 2!

Cason turned 2 today!  Most of the day was pretty normal with grocery shopping, naps, etc.  But his big treat was going to Cabela's and finally getting to pick out his own truck/boat combo.  Cason loves Cabelas.  Its good and bad that we live about 2 minutes away from one.  We have to pass by it to go pretty much anywhere which typically results in Cason on the verge of tears.  For now telling him the boats are sleeping seems to work, but some day he will figure it out.

I don't know when exactly he became so obsessed with the boats.  We realized he really loved them when he brought Terry his boots, said dada car, and started saying boat boat (its always twice) and making his fish face.  I was pretty excited too because they headed out and I was home alone. :)

This was his face when we turned in the parking lot.

We have a rule that we hold hands in parking lots and near streets but he took off running and Terry is trying to catch up.

He cannot wait!

When we walk in he always points at all the animals.  He goes and finds all the bears first and growls at them.  Then he finds the turkeys and other animals.  Next we make fish faces at the fish.

At some point on one of the trips he discovered these and remembered exactly where they were located.  Today he picked this one out.  Best day ever!

He didn't want either of us to touch it.  He insisted on dragging it in the house.

Finally getting settled

The past several weeks have been out of control. We moved out of the house and found a house in Allen to rent until we figure out what we at doing. It's in a nice neighborhood with lots of parks for Cason and a backyard he can play in. It is a little small and I'm missing several things that are crammed in the garage. I may or may not get them out. We lived in complete chaos the first week or so but finally have the kitchen, living room, and Cason's room mostly livable. It's all on one floor and he loves to play in his room. If someone visits he drags them back to play too.

In the old house Cason rediscovered some of his baby toys. He thought it was pretty funny.

Don't be fooled. He doesn't eat a bite. He likes to play though. One of our last meals in Cedar Park since our kitchen was packed.

Before we moved we spent some time at my parents trying to find somewhere to live. We went to parks and spent a lot of time pulling the wagon around.

He makes Grammy read this constantly. He has hand movements for the caterpillar and butterfly. So cute!

Loving his little table at Grandma Ds house.

Finally a few pics from the new place. We got some snow and he finally let me put a hat on that stayed. It's Terry's hat and he kind of looks like a little Russian man.

I've taken him to a gym that has open play days and the first time was a complete and utter disaster. The 2nd time was better and he loved to jump in the foam blocks. We finally had some decent weather and hit the playground. Thank goodness!

And finally...a series of his favorite pose for pictures. He is such a stinker.
